Dr Dave Murray
Dr Dave Murray has been a consultant anaesthetist at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough since 2003. He established the NHS Emergency Laparotomy Network in 2010, and led the development of the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit with the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP). He has now been appointed the National Clinical lead for this audit.
He also has a long held interest in patient safety and Human Factors, is a member of the Clinical Human Factors Group, and has been appointed as Assistant Medical Director at JCUH to pursue this further within the Trust. He also has a Masters in Medical Education, is past secretary of SEA UK, and is a member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists "Anaesthetists as Educator" faculty, and an editor for e-Learning Anaesthesia.
When is not working, he is also somewhat obsessed with competing in triathlons, and has even represented GB within his Age Group at the European Long Distance Duathlon Championships!
