Aarne Feldheiser is Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine of the Charité – University Medicine Berlin where he leads his research group focussing on quality improvement to enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) and haemodynamic optimization by advanced haemodynamic monitoring, infusion solutions and transfusions in adults and children with an emphasis on long-term outcome after cancer surgery.
Aarne is certified in transthoracic echocardiography by the European Society of Cardiology and trained in transoesophageal echocardiography.
Aarne is a member of the Task Force on Revision of Pre-op Evaluation of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and of the S2-K guideline committee about „Perioperative haemodynamic monitoring“ of the German Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. He is actively involved in the Enhanced Recovery After surgery (ERAS) Society and first author of the consensus statement about anaesthesiological items within ERAS of the society.
