Bob Smith graduated MB, MS, Melbourne 1965, FFARCS, London 1971 after 3 years at The London Hospital, 1973 to1984 in private practice in Melbourne, with 1 day a week at Prince Hospital as a consultant anaesthetist, 1984 to 2003, Director of Anaesthesia at Western Hospital, Melbourne, and Staff anaesthetist at Western Hospital from 2003 till the present. Bob has also recently taken small part time appointments at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in CPET, and an appointment at Victoria University of Technology in the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living (ISEAL).

Started the CPX programme at Western with Dr Paul Older in 1989.
