I studied med school at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. I have been working as a resident on the neurosurgery and general surgery departments for 3 years. Since 2018 I’ve started my PhD on oncological surgery and prehabilitation. Furthermore, I am coordinator of the international PREHAB trial, a RCT comparing a multimodal prehabilitation program in patients with colorectal cancer undergoing surgery with standard care in 6 different countries. In this position, I am privileged to visit hospitals all over the world. The attention for prehabilitation is growing in The Netherlands, and hopefully this will become standard of care in every hospital very soon.
