Frances Forrest
Consultant Anaesthetist
I was appointed as a consultant in University Hospital Bristol in 1996.
My initial interests lay in the development of simulation as an educational tool. During this time I completed an educational diploma through Dundee University.
After ten years helping to develop Bristol Medical Simulator Centre I changed track into management. I have been lead doctor for both theatres and anaesthesia. I like to think that education underpins the approach I take to change management. For the last four years I have been a member of LNC, Chair of HMC, ACCEA committee member and consultant appraiser.
I have been a regular member of the POAC team for the last 5 years. I am particularly interested in the benefits of physical fitness and surgical outcome and am hugely supportive of the development of pre-habilitation.
