Gareth is Professor of Perioperative Medicine at  William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine, Queen Mary, University of London and holds a NIHR Advanced Fellowship (2020-2025). His clinical practice encompasses surgical critical care and anaesthesia for major elective, transplant and trauma surgery.  Gareth’s research is focussed on improving outcomes for patients following major surgery and critical illness through developing translational examining autonomic regulation of tissue injury and inflammation.
