Kate Ulrich, MS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC is the Associate Chief Nursing Officer of Perioperative Services Duke University Medical Center.
Kate transitioned to Duke University Hospital in 2011, and is responsible for 65 Operating Rooms and associated perianesthesia services across the organization. An extensive perioperative platform, clinical oversight includes inpatient and outpatient surgical specialties across the continuum for nearly 41,000 patients annually in a complex, progressive, academic tertiary environment.
Kate has been a nurse in the perioperative and ICU settings for over 25 years. Her career began as a staff nurse in 1991 and she has served in clinical and administrative leadership positions of increasing scope and responsibility throughout her career at various organizations in the New York area.
She holds a BSN degree in nursing from The College of New Rochelle, New Rochelle, NY, and a Master’s of Science in Health Care Administration from Iona College, New Rochelle NY.
Kate is a member of the North Carolina Nurse’s Association (NCNA) and the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
