Matt Oliver. MBChB FRCA
Matt completed the MBChB at the University of Bristol in 2004 and went on to work in a variety of acute care training posts in the South West of England and South East of Australia. On returning to England in 2009 he began anaesthetic training in the London Deanery and after three years took up the Fellowship at the National Institute for Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) Health Services Research Centre (HSRC).
Since 2012 he has been working as a Research Fellow with the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA) project team. Work has included contributing to the design and implementation of the organisational and patient audits, touring Great Britain and Ireland telling anaesthetists, surgeons and on occasion radiologists about NELA and coordinating the writing and analysis which underpins the Reports of the organisational and patient audits.
He plans to return to anaesthetic training later in 2015, but has the small matter of completing the write-up of a PhD thesis to contend with before then.
