Peter Gosling studied Medical Biochemistry at Birmingham University followed by a PhD in metabolic bone disease in renal failure. His subsequent studies in trauma, burns and vascular surgery led to the discovery of the association between inflammation-induced systemic capillary permeability and microalbuminuria. His research interests include pathogenesis of multiple organ failure and fluid resuscitation.
He has published over 100 original papers and reviews. ICU Medical and nursing staff patiently indulge his daily visits to the intensive care unit, where he attempts to match laboratory data with clinical changes at the bedside.
