Sarah earned her Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) with a concentration in Finance in 2013 from the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Gillings School of Global Public Health and her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2006. Sarah completed the post-graduate Administrative Fellowship Program at Duke University Hospital in 2015 where she spent two years learning hospital operations, leadership, and management under the mentorship of former president Kevin Sowers. Prior to that, she completed an Administrative Internship in 2012 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Sarah provides administrative management and leadership for Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PAT) / Perioperative Anesthesia and Surgical Screening (PASS) Clinics at Duke University Hospital and leads projects and operational initiatives for Perioperative Services. She currently serves as the operational lead for development and implementation of the PASS Clinic and its related optimization programs. Sarah first joined Duke in 2009 in the Department of Surgery in a marketing and communications function prior to beginning her graduate studies.
Sarah serves on the Board of Directors for the Samaritan Health Center in Durham, North Carolina, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Triangle Healthcare Executives’ Forum (THEF).
In her free time, she enjoys hiking and climbing mountains, running and triathlons, traveling, and serving others through her church community.
