Dr Gabor Zilahi graduated from the University of Semmelweis in 2008 and completed specialist training in anaesthesia and intensive care. His training was divided between both Hungary and Ireland. During this period, Dr Zilahi was awarded the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, the European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine, and the Fellowship of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of Ireland.
Following this, he undertook a year-long Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital on completion of which he was presented with the Senior Trainee of the Year Award. Since then, he has completed a post CST Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) divided between two major university teaching hospitals in Dublin and a year-long Fellowship in ICM in King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital in London.
Dr Zilahi has been working as a Consultant in St George’s University Hospital (SGH) Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) and General Intensive Care Unit (GICU) and does weekly sessions in cardiac anaesthesia.
