Philip Peyton is a clinician-researcher in the Department of Critical Care at the University of Melbourne.

His research interests range widely, from basic and applied science in anaesthetic physiology and pharmacology, to large clinical trials and quality of evidence in perioperative medicine, and he is the current Chief Editor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.

He is a former Chair of the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network, and has been the lead investigator in the ROCKet Trial, investigating the potential effect of perioperative ketamine on the risk of development of chronic postsurgical pain.
