Videolaryngoscopy Interest
In partnership with Medtronic I successfully delivered a McGrath Videolaryngoscope in every environment where an anaesthetic might be given across NHS Lothian, representing one of the first hospitals across the UK to achieve this. In addition I have been involved in the guideline groups for Difficult Airway Society (DAS), 2015 which first promoted the immediate availability of VL, the DAS Awake Tracheal Intubation Guidelines (2020) which promoted awake videolaryngoscopy and the joint 2020 COVID-19 airway management guidelines which encouraged the us of a VL for every potentially COVID +ve intubation.
