Amaki is a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London. She is also a Paediatric Perioperative Medicine Research Fellow with the Centre for Research and Improvement (formerly Health Services Research Centre) based at the Royal College of Anaesthetists, which was responsible for delivering the Children’s Acute Surgical Abdomen Programme (CASAP).

She has a keen interest in improving the quality of the perioperative care provided to children and is currently undertaking a PhD in quality metrics for children having emergency surgery at University College London
