Dr. Bader is an anesthesiologist and researcher whose work focuses on preoperative assessment and improving surgical health care systems. She is Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School, Research Scientist at Harvard School of Public Health, and the Director of the Weiner Center for Preoperative Evaluation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Through the work of her clinical, administrative, and research teams this unit has become a benchmarking unit internationally for excellence in all aspects of preoperative assessment. She has been involved in research on developing a set of emergency checklists for the operating room, as well as improving appropriateness of surgical care by focusing on patient centered outcomes and shared decision making.
