Blanche Symons

I underwent a stem cell transplant in 2009 at UCLH as part of the treatment for Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I was deemed cured/clear and discharged in December 2018.

Prior to this I was an active volunteer spanning two Xtreme Everest Expeditions, including two trips to Nepal and a trek to Everest Base Camp in 2007.

Following my cancer treatment I sat on two committees at UCLH, one on the panel for the patient portal, MY CARE, of the new EPIC EPR computer system and the other committee advising on patient welfare.

I sat as a magistrate in London for 10 years and currently volunteer with Age UK.
