Dr. Jeanna Blitz is an associate professor of Anesthesiology at Duke University School of Medicine, where she is the Director of the Preoperative Anesthesia Surgical Screening (PASS) Clinic.

Her primary academic interest is in the delivery of quality preoperative care and its impact on patient outcomes. She has authored a preoperative medicine web-based curriculum, as well as manuscripts and book chapters on these topics. Dr. Blitz is the director for the Duke Perioperative Medicine fellowship, and speaks both nationally and internationally.  She is Green Belt certified in Lean Management, serves on the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) National Committees on Performance and Outcomes Measurement and Patient Blood Management, represents the ASA at the National Surgical Quality Alliance, and is a board examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology.
