Emma is a Transformation lead at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust and also GIRFT’s programme lead for ‘IP3D’-a programme aimed at Improving the Perioperative Pathway for People with Diabetes. The programme was developed from successful pathway redesign work undertaken at Ipswich Hospital and has now expanded into 10 other NHS trusts across England.
Emma brings knowledge and experience gained over her 17 years working in the NHS. She started her NHS career working in Primary Care Mental Health before moving across to work in Diabetes Care seven years ago, initially working with the Eastern Academic Health Science Network and then at Ipswich Hospital Diabetes Service, alongside Prof. Gerry Rayman.
Emma has a particular interest in diabetes perioperative care, self-management and diabetes inpatient care and has published and co-authored a number of papers in this area.
