Celia Ingham Clark works in Sir Bruce Keogh’s team at NHS England as the National Director for reducing premature mortality. She trained as a general and colorectal surgeon and was appointed as a consultant at the Whittington Hospital in 1996. After periods as Director of Medical Education and Clinical Director she was the trust Medical Director from 2004-2012. She has also worked as a national Clinical Director for colorectal cancer, and more recently for transforming inpatient care. In 2012-13 she was Medical Director for revalidation and quality for London, and national Clinical Director for acute surgery and enhanced recovery. She took up her post as national Director for reducing premature mortality in January 2014.
Celia’s principle interest is in supporting quality improvement in practice.
