Dr Andrew Murray is a Research Councils UK Research Fellow, and Lecturer in Integrative Mammalian Physiology at the Department of Physiology, Development & Neuroscience, University of Cambridge.
He completed his doctorate in 2004 on the control of cardiac metabolism and efficiency at the University of Oxford under the direction of Professor Kieran Clarke. His group are currently investigating novel mechanisms that control mitochondrial function in disease and extreme physiological states.
Since 2005, Andrew has been a member of the Caudwell Xtreme Everest Research Group, studying mitochondrial function in cardiac and skeletal muscle at high altitude.
