Sandy (Alexander) Jackson is a specialty trainee in anaesthetics and intensive care medicine. Having trained at the University of Edinburgh, including a BMedSci in epidemiology, Sandy moved to Southampton where he has pursued integrated clinical academic training. His primary research interest is the application of data science, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, to perioperative care. Sandy is passionate about making effective use of the growing wealth of healthcare data. To facilitate this, he has pursued an MSc in Data Science and is currently undertaking a PhD exploring patient-centred outcomes after major surgery.
