Thomas Vetter, MD, MPH is currently the Director of Perioperative Care and the Director of Comprehensive Pain Management, and Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care and Professor of Population Health, at the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Vetter is currently the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Anesthesia & Analgesia. He has published extensively in health outcomes research, comparative effectiveness, quality improvement, patient-reported health measures, healthcare policy and economics, clinical epidemiology and biostatistics.

Dr. Vetter is a nationally recognized expert on perioperative medicine and value-based healthcare. He has lectured nationally on various topics in anesthesiology, perioperative medicine, pain management, health policy, and research design.
