Dr. White is Lead Consultant for Trauma and Orthopaedic Anaesthesia at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. His research interests are eclectic, but include the perioperative care of elderly patients, particularly those undergoing hip fracture repair and emergency laparotomy, and he is the national research co-ordinator for the Hip Fracture Anaesthesia Network. He is a Council member of the Age Anaesthesia Association, who he represents at the steering group of the National Hip Fracture Database, with whom he is currently co-ordinating the national Anaesthesia Sprint Audit Project (ASAP). He was a member of the AAGBI working party on the management of hip fractures, and has advised NICE on the same. He is an editor of Anaesthesia.
